DIY Magic: How to Make Awesome Curtains Without Sewing!

Hey young creators! Do you want to give your bedroom or playroom a brand new look? Making your own curtains might sound like a huge project, but guess what? You don't even need a needle and thread! We're going to use "magic" tape to hold everything together.

What You'll Need

Let's Get Crafting!

1.Measure Your Window: Get your numbers right!.

Ask an adult to help you measure the window. You want your curtains to be a little wider and taller than the window itself so they look nice and full. If you're making two curtains, you'll need to add a little extra room for folding the edges (about 4 extra inches for the width and 2 extra inches for the height).

2.Cut Your Fabric:Snip, snip!.

Using your fabric scissors, carefully cut your linen fabric to the right size. If you want two curtains that open in the middle, cut your big piece of fabric right down the center so you have two matching rectangles.

3.Fold the Edges:Making it neat.

Take the sides of your fabric and fold them over about 1 inch (just like folding a piece of paper). Ask an adult to help you press the fold completely flat using a warm iron.

4.Add the Magic Tape:No sewing required!.

Cut a piece of your no-sew hemming tape so it's the exact same length as your fold. Lift up the folded edge, hide the tape inside the fold, and lay the fabric back down.

5.Iron It Down:Adult Help Needed! 🚨.

Place your damp, thin towel over the folded edge. Have your grown-up press the warm iron on the towel for 10 seconds at a time. The heat melts the tape and glues the fabric together! Do this all the way down the sides, and then do the exact same thing for the top and bottom edges.

6.Hang Them Up!:The fun part.

Once all the edges are glued with the magic tape and have cooled down, clip your rings to the top of the curtains and slide them onto your curtain rod. Ta-da! You just made your very own custom room decor!
